Human Factors & Ergonomics Internship for 9-12 months (80-100%)

Location: Wangen b. Düb. &/or Geneva 
When: 01.09.2025 

 

Your mission:

You will develop design guidelines for the H24 Working Positions that operate across towers, radar centres and system monitoring units, based on official documentation and on actual needs from operational staff.

 

Your tasks:

  • Getting up to speed and learn about Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations and the basics of working positions
  • Enhancing design guidelines to improve workstations for air traffic controllers and system monitoring units
  • Developing a questionnaire to identify operational staff needs across environments
  • Conducting interviews to gather insights from operational staff on daily challenges and needs
  • Analysing and integrating findings into the workstation design guidelines
  • Promoting the guideline for use in real projects like control tower and radar centre upgrades
  • Supporting additional Human Factors projects, including usability evaluations and task analyses

 

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors (preferred), engineering, science or psychology obtained within the last two years 
  • Interest in aviation is a plus
  • Basic understanding of surveys or qualitative research is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a precise and structured working style
  • Communication: You adapt your communication style to the context and stakeholders and actively ask for information through relevant questions and active listening
  • Problem solving: You seek accurate information to analyse problems, break down complex issues into manageable parts, and approach solutions in a systematic and structured way
  • English minimum level B2, German proficiency appreciated
