Manager International and Environmental Affairs (80-100%)

Your mission:

In this role, you will be accountable for identifying opportunities and driving our international affairs activities which are focussed on shaping Air Traffic Management (ATM) regulations, as well as gaining political support to enable innovation at European level. You will also work closely with Public Affairs to complete the picture of political and regulatory stakeholder management.

 

Your tasks:

  • Monitor and influence conversations around ATM with EU and international institutions and committees on behalf of Skyguide
  • Closely work with internal stakeholders to formulate position papers, prepare executives to enable them to position Skyguide in the international ATM context
  • Represent International and Environmental Affairs within Skyguide appropriately within Skyguide and the wider Communications team. 
  • Ensure a constant flow of information about relevant international conversations to Executives, keep messaging updated.
  • Represent Skyguide at relevant meetings on behalf of or together with Skyguide executives and experts at international meetings. 
  • Identify and assess influencers and allies: design and implement/execute an extensive outreach program that focusses on political decision-makers and on influencers such as representative bodies of the aviation value chain based on a thorough international stakeholder mapping and monitoring 
  • Push CANSO and other relevant ATM and aviation representatives to prioritize economical and environmentally sustainable aviation solutions 
  • Manage a team of experts 

 

What we are looking for:

  • Master's degree in international relations, public affairs, law, political science or equivalent in combination with an economic education 
  • Strong professional background in Public/International Affairs, ideally in the aviation industry and network in Brussels and within Europe's aviation community (willingness to travel within in Switzerland and EU)
  • The ability to absorb and understand technical, economic and legal language, to independently develop new technical, economic or legal arguments and evidence and use them to put into the strawman and convince key stakeholders 
  • Experience in creating complex strategic documents and lead complex negotiation processes on top exec level

  • Mother tongue German, English or French, fully fluent in at least English or French and good command of the other language
