Network Architect (80-100%)
Location: Wangen b. Dübendorf

Your mission:
As a Network Architect, you will drive the evolution of Skyguide’s IT and network infrastructure, shaping a secure, resilient, and future-ready connectivity landscape. You act as a trusted advisor to engineering teams, management, and business stakeholders, guiding the adoption of innovative networking technologies and architectural best practices.
As part of the Platform team and the broader architecture community, you define and own reusable infrastructure building blocks, enabling scalable, reliable, and secure network services across all products. You bring vision, technical excellence, and a collaborative mindset to ensure our network architecture meets today’s operational demands while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.
Your tasks:
- Define, design, and own network architecture building blocks, ensuring they are scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise strategy
- Drive the evolution of the network landscape, incorporating modern networking paradigms
- Provide architectural guidance and support to engineering teams in adopting advanced networking technologies and solutions
- Advise management and business stakeholders on networking technology trends, risks, and strategic opportunities
- Ensure network security is embedded by design, aligned with relevant frameworks, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate across domains (compute, storage, cloud, and applications) to ensure end-to-end system integration
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, standards, and models
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in network architecture within complex, high-reliability or safety-critical environments
- Experience in architecture documentation and modelling practices
- Routing & Switching: advanced knowledge of enterprise vendors like Cisco, Juniper or Extreme Networks
- Communication: You adapt your communication style to the context and stakeholders and actively ask for information through relevant questions and active listening
- Credibility & accountability: You are transparent in your actions, explaining the reasoning behind them, and consistently follow through on your commitments
- Proficient in English written and orally, good command in German or French is a plus
